Genetically modified organism are organisms made up of genetically engineered products created in scientific laboratories. Their compounds consist of matter ranging from animals, plants, bacterial, and genes that are not native to the conditions or environments in which they would reside in. Genetic modification allows scientists to abstract the genes of one gene and inject them into another organism. GMO crops are nothing new to many households. They are sold by the thousands, and are not required to be label as an unnatural byproduct. Many of the produce we consumed from the grocery stores are by products of GMO. They are not required to be label as an GMO product due to the lack of regulation. Many people believe the benefits of GMOS outweigh the unknown risk of GMO consumption. The lack of evidence in studies done or labelling is due to the lack of the regulation required by the government. One of the greatest known company that produces GMO is Monsanto. Farmers are being used merely a means to an end to advance Monsanto’s monopoly. Monsanto’s monopoly and patents infringers on farmer’s negative rights to produce their own crops from contamination. As human beings, farmers should be able to be free from outside interferences. Due to the close proximity of GM farms to local and organic farmers, farmers are no longer able to maintain an organic or natural label on their products. Thus, causing a loss of profit and income for each individual. Kant also believed that lying is an immoral act. If lying is immoral then hiding the truth is, consider lying. To keep genetically modified foods from being unlabeled is immoral. Monsanto fear labelling their products would deter people from purchasing their products and loosing money. Kant would argue that omitting information is
