Amardeep Singh said, "here in New York City, we regularly receive reports that Sikh school children are called 'bin Laden ' or 'terrorist ' by classmates and sometimes endure physical violence." Today has become a very cruel place, even children are starting to act violently due to religion. As Amardeep Singh explained, it’s not just once in awhile that these events happen, it happens in a regular basis. In an article on the Guardian it was stated, “yet it’s true, religion has been a major feature in some historical conflicts and the most recent wave of modern terrorism” (Rachel Woodlock). Many of the wars that have happened throughout history have happened because of religion or different beliefs, such as the holocaust. Today many terrorist attacks are being driven by religion, such as the terrorist group called ISIS. In Pakistan a great tragedy happened which was that a Taliban attack happened at a school, 148 people died and 132 of them were children. This traumatic event led to having many religious leaders from all faiths to gather with their followers to mourn the victims and to pray for everyone together. This point of view sounds convincing at first, but the mistake with this is that if religion really did bring people together it should not be after a tragedy. The religious leaders and their followers from all faiths would not get together to pray, if it weren’t for all the tragedies that religion brings.
