Sample Session This session would occur in the initial phase of the group when the members are beginning to explore their thoughts and beliefs (Corey, 2012). The goal is for the leader to gain a broad understanding of the member’s world, while giving the member the opportunity to identify relationships and their value to the member. Groups will always begin with the opportunity for members to discuss any unfinished business from the previous session. Additionally, members will be asked if they need to discuss any matters of urgency.
