The Outsiders P.O.V.
I was so worried and frustrated with Ponyboy not coming home on time. I had the porch light on and hopefully waiting Ponyboy will come back. I was the only one awake Sodapop was stretched out on the sofa sound asleep. But I was just on the arm chair under the lamp reading the newspaper. I heard the door open softly and I looked up from my newspaper and I saw Ponyboy.
´´Where the heck have you been? Do you know what time it is?´´ I was so mad. I had never seen Ponyboy so scared and worried before.
“Well, it's two in the morning, kiddo. Another hour and I would have had the police out after you. Where were you Ponyboy?’’ - my voice was rising - ‘’Where in the almighty universe were you?” Ponyboy said, ’’I went to sleep in

And you were asleep in the lot? Ponyboy, what on earth is the matter with you? Can’t you use your head? You haven’t even got a coat on.’’ Ponyboy said, ’’I said I didn't mean to…’’ ‘’ I didn’t mean!’’ I shouted. ‘’ I didn’t think! I forgot! That’s all I hear out of you! Can’t you think of anything?’’ ‘’Darry… ‘’ Sodapop began but I turned on him and said.’’ Keep your trap shut! I’m sick and tired of hearin you stick up for him.
Then Ponyboy exploded, ‘’You don’t yell at him!’’ Then I wheeled around and slapped Ponyboy so hard it knocked him against the door.
Suddenly it was deathly quiet. We had all frozen. Nobody in my family had ever hit Ponyboy. Nobody. Soda was wide-eyed. Then I looked at the palm of my hand where it had turned red and then I looked back at PonyBoy. And I was in shock.
Then I saw Ponyboy run out the door and then down the street as fast as he could. And I screamed, ‘’Ponyboy, I didn't mean to!’’ But Ponyboy was already by the lot by then and it seemed like he couldn’t hear

The sound of footsteps going down the creaky wooden staircase echoed through the strangely silent house of the Tristessens. Between the walls, pestilence and death hung in the air like a thick smog, choking everyone inside. The only disturbance to the stagnant, silent atmosphere was the occasional cough rattling through the lungs of the man, Galen, who seemed much older than he was, and his children moving about the house to care for him. “Jackson, could you please get me the water? Bring it up here--quickly” Jillian called to her brother in a voice barely louder than a whisper.…

In paragraph 3, Pony and Johnny were having a deep conversation about their mother and father “Mom would bake some more chocolate cakes and dad would drive the pickup out early to feed the cattle”(Hinton 48). But then they accidentally drifted off to sleep on the small hill. Johnny soon woke Pony up and went their separate ways. Pony goes home and finds an angry Darry waiting for him. Darry then slapped Pony across the face “Darry wheeled around and slapped me so hard that it knocked me against the door” (Hinton 50).…

(Hinton pg. 159) Ponyboy is showing emotions towards darry, like caring if he asks for him, If ponyboy didn’t have a decent life and a stable home it wouldn’t matter to him if he asked for Darry or not. Also supporting that, Ponyboy didn’t need to worry about Darry ,at this moment, because he was in the hospital and needed to recuperate, but what happened ? He was concerned about Darry’s feelings, and being curious to see if he didn’t mess up and do something to ruin their relationship as brothers. Another quote that was equally important as the one above was, “What would it be like, i wondered, in a different ceiling? What would it be like in a different bed, in a different room?…

As a lonely pez container, at a local Dollar Tree, I wish someone would buy and take care of me versus being in a plastic box, for eternity. Did I mention i’m claustrophobic! Well, I was watching the crowd walking through the local shop, back and forth throughout the day, until I spotted a little boy staring at me, with glimmering eyes. “Mommy, mommy, the boy said with excitement,” Can I get this toy, please?” “Yes, but if you do this will be the only toy you get for the week, Ok.”…

It had been months since there had been any significant rain in Oklahoma. There was dust everywhere. On the sheets, in our food, and covering every establishment in sight. Although this had been the daily condition for a long time, nothing could have prepared me for what happened the day of Sunday, April 14, 1935. Conditions had been getting really bad in Scherville, the town I lived in.…

For my film analysis, I chose to analyze the movie “The Outsiders” directed by Francis Ford Coppola and based on the novel “The Outsiders” by S. E. Hinton. In this movie, a gang of outcasts from the north side of town called the Greasers are always fighting against a rival group called the Socials, who are the rich jocks from the south side of town. The story follows two young Greasers, Johnny and Ponyboy, who aren’t like the others. These two see that fighting is pointless, but it’s just the way they live their life. The two boys get into a fight with some Socials and end up killing one.…

The Catcher in the Rye illustrates within its masterful pages the gradual maturation of an immature boy into a self-reliant young man. It is the unorthodox story of seventeen year-old Holden Caulfield, who is growing up in the decadent world of New York. He has thus far been unable to come terms with the fact that eventually, he must grow up, and that the world will never be pure. Holden has profound difficulty in accepting the inevitable, which in turn delays any form of progression towards adulthood. Caulfield’s rite of passage is at last accomplished through the occurrence of independent events that allowed for an epiphany in the form of the Central Park carousel in the last lines of the novel.…
