A Monologue Of My Personal Experience-Personal Narrative

Monologue One day I was playing in my backyard, minding my own business when my mother told me the worst news imaginable. It was a peaceful Saturday and we were spending some time outside, enjoying the weather. Suddenly, her phone went off and she quickly answered it. I could not wait until I was grown up and could drive real cars, and smash real cars into something. My mother hung up her cell phone and came over to me. She told me that she just received exciting news that her sister had invited us to go visit her in Florida. I was happy because that meant I could see my cousins again that I rarely ever see. I was happy until she told me that we were taking a plane to get there. As soon as she said “plane”, my heart sunk and my hands started sweating. A plane. I cannot do a plane ride. People are trapped in a metal can, flying in the air, possibly crashing to their deaths. A plane! No. Not me. I will walk to Florida, maybe I could walk to Florida. It would take a while and I am not allowed to cross any streets without holding my …show more content…

Too much danger, too scary. I told her that I would not be going with her and she kept telling me that I would be going. She is my mother so she can boss me around sometimes, but not about this. A plane is where I draw the line. She might be able to take me to the dentist and the doctor’s office, but I am old enough to know that planes are

Everytime that we have a long trip she is always the last one to come. I was kind of worried because I though that she wasn't going anymore. She was supposed to bring the main food for us to eat in the van, so that's why I was insisting everyone to wait for her and be patience. The trip was really long. All I did was listening to music until my phone died.…

When I attended Thorton Junior High School, I was real skinny, therefore, I felt like an outsider. I was thirteen years old and wearing a size one, whenever a big gust of wind came, it nearly knocked me down. People often teased me and called me names like Olive Oyle, Wilma, or Skinny Minny. Whenever we had gym, I was scared to show my body because it was so bony and I knew people would laugh, when they laughed, I felt like an outsider.…

I was 23 before I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder. As far back as Elementary school I knew that there was something “off” in the way that I processed information. That my ability to do well academically was somehow hindered by not having certain tools that I needed, tools I wasn’t even aware existed. In high school, I began to augment my deficits with strengths. Where my grades were lacking I made up for it through creativity; I excelled at art and photography.…

The rain began to softly drip onto the girl ’s unkempt black hair as she walked along the weather-beaten sidewalk. Only a few rays of sun pierced the gray sky. A few cars passed by on the road; an old rusted Ford truck, a white minivan, and a shiny car with a green “Sheriff” across its doors. All three cars pulled into the school parking lot.…

I sat there in the hard seat of my desk and waited patiently. The scent of Lysol was overwhelmingly powerful in the room, but I knew by the third week it would be overpowered by the smell of musty children and chalk dust. I could not wait for my new teacher to saunter up to me, eyes full of admiration, and give me my paper. I had worked hard on it for nearly two months during the summer prior to this new school year. Looking around the room at my new classmates, it was easy to tell who had done the summer assignments, especially with their conspicuous faces.…

I entered the door of my local high school, and I felt the uneasiness fly away. I moved through the hall where on the side I saw the countless golden and silver trophies. As I continued down the hall I saw a desk that has four pieces of paper on the bottom with letters that were organized through last name. A's-G's were on the far left while S's-Z's were on the right. I went toward the desk to get my schedule.…

I was spring, the trees were blooming and the Mississippi had flooded like it always does every spring, which make the city of Memphis smelt like fish. We were staying in an area near Presidents Island, which was considered a suitable neighborhood and on my first night there was literally a drive by shooting, one of the neighbors across the street had seriously rubbed someone the wrong way. I was starting to question my decisions, anyway, I adjusted, an apparently I adjusted to well later that spring I discovered I was pregnant. Oops! It was a dark gloomy night, rain drips slowly down my window as I awake in the hospital bed. I didn’t know how or why I was there, I tried calling the nurse.
