Kendrick asked me to have dinner with him tonight at his cottage. He said he was preparing something special for dinner. This is going to be our last time together before he went back on the oil rig for another twenty-eight day shift. I thought of all that time we were going to be apart, I wanted to make tonight extraordinary, something he would remember while he’s out on the rig. I also hoped that it would make it easier for me to be without him for the next month. I still hadn’t the courage to voice how I felt about him. I am still trying to figure my feelings out. I am starting to believe I might be able to trust this male. I couldn’t think about being hurt again, it would crush me, to be deceived by Kendrick. The night is beautiful …show more content…
I dressed with seduction on my mind. I wore one of my new dresses I brought from home. I purchased a couple of cute dresses from a little boutique on Melrose Avenue, in Beverly Hills. I chose the short black cashmere sweater dress with the scoop neckline. I didn’t know if I would actually be given a chance or a reason to wear them but thrown the dresses in the suitcase anyway. I used a small amount my favorite fragrance Eternity, I loved the mood it put me in. Instead of my usually ponytail, I left my hair down long and loose with the soft curls just above my waist. I wore a pair of black ballet flats, the walk to his cottage was a little far to try and make in in high heels at night even with a full moon. I knocked on the door of his cottage; I could hear him inside banging around some pots or pans. He must be in the middle of preparing our meal. He called out and said “Come on in, the door isn’t locked.” I let myself in and glanced around the front room. The table was set; the candles on the table were lit. He had a peat fire going in the fireplace. Kendrick choice of music playing on his IPod, Playing through a JBL Stereo Speakers system, wasn’t soft and romantic but it is my favorite group. Linkin Park’s ‘Burn it Down’ is thumping in the background. My eyes met his smiling face and I said. “Excellent choice in your music, love the group and the song. One of my favorite songs of theirs is ‘Somewhere …show more content…
I am thinking along the same lines, thinking you’re so handsome in your black knit sweater and black jeans. The land version of your black as midnight Selkie pelt." Kendrick moved away from the kitchen, he came and took me in his strong arms. I felt the corded muscles of his biceps and forearms as he embraced me. He made me feel so safe and cared for when I was with him. The ice in my heart is melting a little every time I am with him and I started to think there was a possibility I might be able to love again. I knew I had strong feelings for Kendrick. I just didn't trust my judgment enough to know if it could be love. Yeah like the last time turned out so well. NOT! "Let's eat before the fish is cold. Besides the salmon I also made baked potatoes, carrots and peas. I made just plain food except for the soy butter sauce for the grilled salmon. What is it, under your dish cloth that you brought?" He said. "I baked a Blaeberry and Sloe berry crumble. Seanmhair had put up some of the summer blaeberries and we had our first frost last week, so the sloe berries are wonderful and sweet." I said. "It sounds delicious, let sit down and enjoy." He

The narrator of Beowulf often compares the hero to Christ in several instances throughout the story, but also presents distinct differences between them in the hero's motives rather than actions. When Beowulf hears of the dragon that destroyed “his own home, / the best of buildings” (Beowulf 2325-2326), he becomes depressed, then furious and plans to seek revenge. When the narrator explains Beowulf's reasoning for his strategy, he describes Beowulf as “too proud / to line up with a large army / against the sky-plague” (2345-2347), which would make the motive for putting himself in danger an antithesis to Christ's, which was humility. The narrator again distances Beowulf from Christ with a mention of the hero having “no dread at all” (2348), compared to Christ who pleaded with God to have the cup taken from him.…
