Federigo did not care about what he had to give up as long as she was happy nothing else mattered to him. He eventually became poor and lived on a farm, & Giovanna came over to ask for his beloved falcon for her son, but he had killed it for her to eat. Another quote is " I should honor you... with a more precious food than that which are usually served to other people; there for remembering the Falcon that you requested and its values, I just ate food worthy of you" ( Giovanni Boccaccio, 212). Even though the Falcon was the only thing valuable left in Federigo's life, he still sacrificed it so that Giovanna could have a worthy meal. There are very few men who would sacrifice their only valuable thing left in their life. Acts like this is will make him and gentlemen because he didn't do it for himself he did it for her, all he wanted was to satisfy her needs even if that meant losing everything had.
