The main argument of the opposing viewpoint is that these devices do not work because people don’t need anymore technology involved in their lives and that we can’t rely on what a wristband tells us. Life monitoring devices rely on basic information such as age, height, and weight to calculate the amount of calories burned for the size and age a person is. The purpose of these life-monitoring devices is to help us on the path to a healthier life. People mistaken these watches as fitness coaches that are suppose to automatically make them become fit. That is not the case when monitoring health, the main purpose is to only help a person and give them statistics while recording them throughout the day. It is up to the owner of the device to decide what they want to do with those numbers, whether it is improving those numbers or to ignore them.
