Monika Dixon’s PR vision first began with BeeCloser, a company that she started back in 2002 when she immigrated to the United States from Poland. BeeCloser was a public relations company that was meant to “bring Polish business owners mainstream and that suddenly became the main focus” Dixon said during her interview with Lux & Concord. “That opened up the eyes of American business owners that want to be known in the Polish community. It’s a strong force” she also mentioned during the interview. Back in 2012, Monika Dixon became the proud owner of Monika Dixon Public Relations. “I started Monika Dixon Public Relations in April of 2012 to separate myself from that idea and now 90 percent of my clients are American. Their PR services include; media relations, press kit creation, print and editorial placements, digital placements, PR campaigns, full media monitoring, identifying target journalists, grassroots marketing, creating brand narrative, partnership opportunities, corporate material production, and press coverage. Their social media services include; social media consulting, management, social media ad campaigns, content creation, Instagram photo styling, social media photography, and social media seminars. Their event marketing services include; event planning, event publicity, sponsorship & partnership coordination, invite production, distribution, & response casting, event research (venue, dates, pricing), speech writing, organization of creating & supporting materials, and guest list gathering and creation. As according to their website, their influencer relations services are meant to “provide a plan of action, explaining how our team of digital experts and writers will work with you to boost your current presence, your services and mapping the key influencers”. MDPR expresses a collaborative culture by having its small work team and intimate office environment. Monika Dixon, our boss, is our mentor and parental figure in a way as mentioned in the presentation video. While she mentors us, she gives us some tough loving and pushes us like any parent would to see us succeed. She always makes sure that we have our cups of coffees filled and Uber’s us home after a late night event. At the MDPR office all you see is a group of girls laughing hard and working harder around a big marble table covered in work done by us all, presenting nothing but productive teamwork. Because I got to be a part of such collaborate and close culture with my co-workers during this internship, I know that I have made friends both, in a professional and personal way that will benefit me in my future endeavors. MDPR can also be classified with a creative culture because all we do in the office each and every day is create anything and everything that our clients
