What Is The Key To Happiness Essay

Decent Essays
“Money is the key to happiness”, this is something that most people hear at least once a day. The real question is if this statement is true. Most people agree because they think that even if the money doesn’t make them happy that they can buy something using the money that will make them happy. On the website PsychologyToday, Greenberg states that money can most definitely cause people to be happier, but it is not the “key” to a person’s happiness. She also talks about the best way that money can make you happy is when you use your money to take a family vacation or do something nice for someone else. Of course money will make you happy, it helps pay bills and is good for many different things and is usually a stress reliever. Money is one …show more content…
Some things that most kids, including myself, don’t realize is the stresses and complications that come with the College experience. They can’t wait to get out into the world on their own, but that in itself is the most stressful part in my college life. What most people don’t realize is that when you go off to college that is one of the biggest transitions that you will experience in your life. You have to learn to grow up so fast, pay your own bills and learn how to live without your parents constantly by your side. In the article “What Are the Reasons Why College Life Can Be Stressful”, Kokemuller talks about the many different causes of stress in a College student and what it’s caused by. The three main topics he talks about are social relationships, academic expectations and finances. When a person goes off to college the social aspect is definitely challenging. You are forced to make all new friends and for most people this can be very difficult. Academic expectations also come into play. Their parents are always pushing them and expecting them to do the best as well as their professor, and even though they may have had great grades in High School but fail to realize college classes are much harder. This causes a lot of stress because they fear they will do bad and disappoint their parents. The final reason is finances. Paying for everything on your …show more content…
Everyone always has that one celebrity, or in my case multiple, that they always wanted to be exactly like them, no matter their behavior. This seems to be the same with video games. When a kid sees a videogame player that is really good at basketball and he never misses, it makes that kid want to be just like him. He will try everything in his power to be just like the guy on the videogame. This is the same for violent games too. Kleinman states in an article titled “Do video games make people violent?” that video games can possibly have an effect on the way people behave but it doesn’t affect everyone. She states that many television shows and books have the same type of violence and they aren’t causing people to be violent so either are video games. This is definitely true but in this case the violent television shows and books as well as video games are all causing a little bit of violence in this society. This is most definitely a scary world we live in, but just because someone starts a shooting you cannot just automatically assume that the person has an addiction or has played call of duty before. A big cause to people’s violence is their peers as well as their brain and the way they think. Violence is not the answer and video games shouldn’t be the

With the obsession of the players, the lack of evidence, and the need for videogames to be combined with other factors it is clear that video games do not cause people to act…

The only problem with this is that video games like everything else that is popular, has become controversial. The main controversy surrounding video games is that they are considered violent and unsafe for children to play. Video games are also being blamed for inspiring countless acts of horrific crimes such as mass shootings, and murder which most of the time is unjustified and makes no sense.
