Monaco or officially the Principality of Monaco is a sovereign city state, microstate and country located on the French Riviera in Western Europe. France borders the country on three sides while the other side borders the Mediterranean Sea. The country is divided into four areas: Monaco-Ville (the old city), the Condamine (port quarter), Monte-Carlo (business and recreation), and Fontvieille (recreation and light industry). Monaco

The area of Monaco is only 499 acres. Monaco is actually the second smallest city in the world behind the Vatican City (190 acres).Monaco is six times bigger than Vatican City. Actually, in 2005 they had gone through land reclamation and the land mass has increased by 20% but it had an area of 1.974 km2

Monaco is also known as the “tax haven”. There is no income tax for the residents in Monaco unless you have French nationality There are also low in business taxes. In 2014, it was noted about 30% of the population was made up of millionaires, more than in Zürich or Geneva. Monaco has the world’s lowest poverty rate and the highest number of millionaires and billionaires per capita in the world according to the CIA World Factbook. Monaco is packed with celebrities such as former James Bond – Roger Moore, Lewis Hamilton (Current champion of Formula One), Jenson Button (Formula One driver) and Novak Djokovic (Tennis No.1 player in the world).The currency of Monaco is Euro …show more content…

The reason why I choose to go to Monaco in the future because of the sports itself. In Monaco there are so many sports’ venue like Stade Louis II and Circuit de Monaco. Since I am a huge fan of sports, so it really thrill me to go to Monaco.

First, I would like to talk about the Stade Louis II. Stade Louis II is the home ground for the one of the famous football club in the world, AS Monaco. They compete in the Ligue 1 (France’s first division league) and they are reigning champion. The club is historically one of the most successful clubs in the French league, having won Ligue 1 eight times (most recently in 2016–17) and competed at the top level for all but six seasons since 1953.In 2004, the club reached the final of the UEFA Champion League (the league for all the top football club in Europe) but unfortunately they lost to FC Porto (a Portuguese club) 3-0. Many international stars have played for the club, such as French World Cup-winners Thierry Henry, Fabien Barthez and David Trezeguet. During the UEFA Super Cup from 1998 until 2012, the Stade Louis II played as the annual host. AS
