Throughout the movie I only focus on three personality disorders. Which were obsessive compulsive disorder, borderline, and narcissism. OCD which is short for obsessive compulsive disorder is where you need orderliness, cleanliness, and organization. Boardline is instability of mood. Narcissism is the need of excessive admiration. Boardline is similar to bipolar. Bipolar is rapid mood changes, but borderline is more just being crazy and doing things out of the ordinary. The movie, “Mommy Dearest” was an unusual, but interesting movie. Joan was a rich actress who wanted a child. She sent in an adoption request form, but ended up getting denied. She got denied because she lived by herself and was always on the move. So, she was not very suitable …show more content…
Even staging pictures for Joan’s fans to see. That was narcissism because she liked and wanted all of that attention. Joan and Christian were playing in the pool and Joan insisted that they raced. Of course Joan won and she said “I’m bigger and stronger and I will always beat you!” Also, Joan came home very upset to the finding of her daughter mimicking her in her room. So, she ripped through her hair with a brush and started cutting it off. Showing that both of these events showed borderline. Joan also showed narcissism by only being worried about her fans and if they wanted her signature. Joan showed a lot of OCD, right away in the movie she was going around the living room to make sure everything was clean. She found out that the house cleaner missed a spot underneath a plant. She went off at her and Joan has to show her and Joan said “If you can not do it right then do not do it at all!” Joan showed narcissism by thinking her acting was perfect and that everyone loved her and her acting. Boardline was when Joan went the garden and destroyed it having everyone in the house help. Also, she went off at Christian for having two wire hangers in her closet. Beating Christian with the wire hangers. OCD was when the floor was spotless, but Joan found a non existing spot and screamed of Christian for it. Joan showed many personality disorders, but only focus on these three
