The answer to this question can be found if we go back full circle. The universal definition of success, aforementioned in previous paragraphs, is to be doing and demonstrating what you desire in your life. As a personal reflection, one of my root desires was to be able to maintain a healthy GPA throughout my first year. Unfortunately, I lacked in several of my classes due to an inability to deal with an issue of laziness which, when combined with depression and other factors, caused me to underperform. I haven’t failed any classes, and yet I failed myself and in the eyes of some others, I do not look successful. However, I am successful in that I have been able to learn from this experience. Pulling out different strategies, forming new habits, and even forging new relationships with people are all results of failing to maintain a desirable GPA. Although, don’t let this fool you. Moving forward from success also involved making hard choices, such as cutting relationships, sacrificing hobbies, and even forcing yourself to change your way of thinking. Making touch decisions is one of the major steps in being able to achieve success.
