PROLOGUE: “Sir, the last experiment was successful. The test subjects are in the lab.” “Excellent. Have we given them the Xnosintia vaccine yet?” “No, sir. The second one was just born. I’ll tell the people monitoring them to do so.” “Perfect. Now, are you sure that they are 100% the same? No differences whatsoever?” “No differences sir. When you look at them, it’s like seeing double.”

CHAPTER ONE
Molly Miller was absolutely, positively NOT looking forward to her last year as an education receptor, or, as they called it in the olden days, “student”. This was the year of “The Test”, the exam that would decide their job - and their life. Once you received your job, there was no turning back. It was what you had to do for

But why would they lie to us? At the education center, they always said that everything they said was true, but now we find out it isn’t? That’s not right. But it has to be something the government dreamed up. The government makes up the school lesson plans, and I’ve long suspected that the Ruler was up to no good,” stated Mollie, “But what you said about us being twins… well, I’ve done some research, and according to old scientific discoveries, if a pair of twins is identical, or looks exactly the same, then it was just a genetic mistake. No pair of twins was ever supposed to look the exactly the same. There are 67 people in each town. So what are the odds of there being 67 pairs of identical twins? No, I think we’re the result of an experiment that was started almost 2700 years ago - we’re …show more content…
Gosh, her twin/clone was smart! Well, she was probably her clone. I guess they have fewer take-home assignments than on this side if Mollie had time for all this research. Or maybe Mollie didn’t complete all of her assignments. “Wait, but why would the Ruler want more people? Knowing him it probably is for his future, not the world’s, which is the opposite of his motto, ‘Your future first.’ I mean, it’s not like he’d profit from having a bunch of people. Or would he…”
Molly looked at her clone. They exchanged a silent agreement - they would have to find out. And there was only one way to find out - they would have to sneak into his heavily guarded mansion.

“Are you sure this is safe?” hissed Molly as she slowly climbed the wall of the Ruler’s house. Mollie was already near the top, but Molly was still only about halfway there. “Shhh!” was Mollie’s only response. As Molly finally reached the top, Mollie quietly pulled her through a window, into a room - the Ruler’s closet. All of a sudden, they heard a voice. Two, actually. And they sounded like they were plotting something very evil. “Did the last cloning experiment work out?”
“No, sir. The child that we cloned had a lung defect, and both of them died a few minutes later.”
“Well, you must have a successful experiment in two moon-sun rotations.

I saw Sheila Brown today. She continued to exhibit paranoia and delusion. Despite her acknowledgement of ‘feeling slightly out of whack’, she was adamant that her suspicion on both of your intentions and manners were real and unrelated to her psychotic symptom. She was specifically fixated on Kimberly’s ways of talking. What concern me the most is her statement about not being hesitate to fight if anyone, including the staff, continues to disrespect her.…

Twins seem to fascinate people across the world due to their distinctiveness and the fact that twinship is an unusual phenomenon. Societies worldwide have developed schemas for twins that influence how twins are perceived and the roles that twins are expected to fill. Societies believe that twins are supposed to be one and the same and that differentiation amongst twin is awkward and uncommon. It is also seen as unmoral and the twins are pressured to once again be one and the same. On a basic level, the naming of twins often takes into consideration the twinship.…
