Molen/Family: The Most Functional Group

Improved Essays
Groups that have the highest degree of cohesiveness are Molen/family and college friends. Within these groups, I feel that I am bound to these members with a strong attraction because these groups are whom I feel closest to, most comfortable with, and I am more attached to them.
I believe that Molen/family is the most functional group because within that group, we all have social roles that cooperate with each other and spread positivity. Despite that fact that we argue and disagree a lot, at the end of the day, there will always be unconditional love.
The most dysfunctional group would probably be my high school best friends. Although there are plentiful good memories and some individuals I can still call as my best friends, my high school

A present day individual who took a minority position in order to influence a group would be Beyonce, an African-American singer/actress. Beyonce is very involved with feminist activism in the music industry as she releases hit singles whose lyrics boldly express feminism pride, such as Flawless and Run the World. "I've always considered myself a feminist, although I was always afraid of that word because people put so much on it. When honestly, it's very simple. It's just a person that believes in equality for men and women. Men and women balance each other out, and we have to get to a point where we are comfortable with appreciating each other,” Beyonce says (Hare 2014). In 2016, Beyonce took it to the next level and dropped her latest single, Formation, which is a song that targets Hurricane Katrina, Black Lives Matter movement, and African-American Feminism. The music video illustrates many messages of activism and racial justice: a young, African-American boy confronting a line of White police officers, her daughter, Blue Ivy, stands proudly showing her hair and flaunting ‘black beauty’ and African-American features, lyrics referencing Martin Luther King Jr., and the words “Stop Shooting Us” were written on a wall. I believe that Beyonce was, and always has been, successful on delivering her powerful message as an African-American feminist. She was able to show the world, open up the eyes of many, and educate the nation that African-American women can survive and

Individuals from diverse backgrounds need feminist theory that speaks directly to their lives,” so in some ways it is important for Beyonce to approach race issues in regards to feminism (Hooks, 116). In fact, this is probably the best way for Beyonce to reach out with this important issue while making sure she can relate to it. Also, Hooks further states that feminism starts to accomplish its goal when “any male or female of any age works on behalf of ending sexism” which is what Beyonce is doing in her album (Hooks, 116). The only issue, is that it is not the forefront of this album, and if the album wants to claim itself as a feminist piece then there needs to be a bigger emphasis on it. Despite the myriad of examples I provided, some of them contradict themselves, and thus feminism, while others touch too briefly on the matter.…

I do believe it is possible to form such a close-knit group in contemporary American society because sometimes people who went through the same things can become really close to one another, but they don't necessarily need to have the same experiences just agree on the same things. For example me and my friend group some of us have went through the same things but not all of us and some of use have been friends since elementary school and we all agree mostly on the same things but we all have different taste were like a mixture of different people, but we are still we are all extremely close…

Having this friendship has assisted me in my studies, finances, and even helped me find a place to live once I moved out of my childhood home.
