Mole Day Research Paper

A mole is a unit of measurement used for chemicals. The unit “mole” can also be abbreviated as “mol”. “Moles are used so that chemists, scientists or engineers know how much of different kinds of chemicals to use to have reactions that work out right. When chemists want to have a chemical reaction come out they need to know how many molecules of each kind of chemical they have, so they measure the chemicals in moles. A mole is the atomic weight of a molecule of the chemical in grams” ("Propulsion." What Is a Mole?). “The amount of a pure substance is expressed by the SI base unit of the mole”. One mole of a substance contains 6.02 x10^23 particles of the substance. That number is known as Avogadro’s number ("Amount of." SI Units Explained). “The number of atoms or other particles in a mole is the same for all substances” (The Editors of Encyclopædia Britannica). That …show more content…
The reason that is so, is because the 6:02 and the 10/23 is symbolized as the 6.02 x 10^23. “The purpose of the National Mole Day Foundation was and continues to be to get all persons, especially students, enthused about chemistry. To do that we would systematically collect ideas from many people, mostly high school Chemistry teachers who celebrate Mole Day, assemble those ideas into idea newsletters, and then distribute them to those who become members of the foundation. As the years have passed, interest in the National Mole Day Foundation has become widespread. The day is celebrated in many foreign countries, especially in Canada and in Australia” (2015 theme). I think that is so unique just because of one guy who decided to put time and effort into the Avogadro’s number and the unit mole. That people decide to make a whole entire day out of it by celebrating it. Amedeo Avogadro obviously made an impact and influence on people, because him and his work is still well known, used and celebrated today, about 205 years

Tom should tell the sheriff about the murder. Some reasons are that it is bothering Tom not telling the sheriff who was the actual murderer, it would be wrong for a innocent man to get hanged for a crime they did not commit, and it is also bad for a murder to be on the loose on the streets because he can commit more crimes. Some people would say that he should not tell because he could get killed or because he took an oath not to tell anyone, but even though he took that oath and could possibly get hurt or killed it is best for him to tell because what Injun Joe did was wrong and he should be punished for his actions and not Muff Potter who was accused for the crime.…

Yellowstone Wolves Around the late 1920’s bounty hunters from the government exterminated the park’s last native wolves as part of a national wolf extermination program to protect the farmer’s livestock. Within these lectures he discussed his research on gases and liquids. This research gave remarkable new insight into the nature of gases. Thus became know as the Atomic Theory. The Atomic Theory states that: “all matter is made up of atoms which are indivisible and indestructible, all atoms of a given element are identical in mass and properties, compounds are formed by a combination of two or more different kinds of atoms, and a chemical reaction is a rearrangement of atoms” (Atomic Theory). Though most of this theory has held true we now know that atoms of the same element can have different masses and that atoms can be destroyed or subdivided in nuclear reactions.…

The setting of Underground Scientist Save the Day contributes to the plot greatly. In the beginning of the story we learn that a boy named Jim and his family are stuck in their house because of the trash problem being so bad that the cant even leave their house. I learned this because in the text it states, "Jim Chang had been cooped up in his family's house forced inside by piles of garbage that now blocked ever single street of his town. " This piece of text proves the struggle Jim and his family faced in this situation.…

Especially now, in a time that the world needs righteous deeds to balance the craziness that keeps escalating a bit everywhere, it’s comforting to focus our attention in virtuous projects done by benevolent people who dedicate their lives to help others in need. This idea gains further emphasis when the people who are benefitting from these efforts are children. Documentarian Marvin Blunte captures with a self-assertive sense of appreciation, the wonderful assistance and guidance given to the poor and abandoned children who reside at Children’s Village School, a 35-year institution located in a remote jungle of the Kanchanaburi province, Thailand. As an alternative to the public school system and the first democratic school in the country, it gives the opportunity to 150 underprivileged children to experience several tasks, from cooking to art making to cleaning, while learning the…
