He created three dimensional effects from two dimensional drawings. Artist before him had created depth of course, but not like he did. He created places where, if someone were able to walk into one his pictures, would be impossible to move around in. Many times he used depth in impossible ways, so that an object would actually be infinitely long if one were to step into the art or art that used only one shape and could go in and out of depth, confusing anyone who would look at the artwork and being mathematically complex and new. Using those ideas in his tessellations he was able to create optical illusions and change how the world saw math, reality, and…

I remembered his guitar, which he puts them on his rather rigid thighs as he strums the strings with gentle touches as if it was his first love. I remembered his shoes, he had a hill of them, I suppose his taste in those models are rather constant. I remembered his voice - an angelic voice –the low rumble of his voice that embraces comfort from within. I remembered his moon crescent-like eyes, which smiles on its own, I must admit it was very charismatic.…

The artists that have inspired me the most so far in my work are Anselm Kiefer, the Chapman brothers and Monet. I first came across Anselm Kiefer and Monet when doing the painting module of our project; although Kiefer is more of a mixed media artist; I had been aware of their work previously however. I came across the Chapman brothers in one of our art history lectures and thought it could be quite interesting to see how their landscapes compare to the more classical painted landscapes. Monet was one of the forefront artists during the impressionism movement in the late nineteenth century.
