In the following quote, I suspect it deals with culture and society. It shows how the higher class and the lower ranking classes interact with the higher classes. As for where one of high status meets one of equal value they would kiss. In what I think it means that it's better to forge alliances instead of rivalries. The cost of having a rivalry is too steep as stated by the quote, as much is at risk when one has to simply be on watch constantly from the enemy. Have an alliance proves for mutual respect for the parties involved in the said alliance. It's also much easier to trade and to learn from each other and it also provides fruitful in terms of supplies and defensive capabilities. During the period of the alliance. Provides time for the said involved parties to absorb each other's cultures and help themselves diversify. After gaining insight they may also change some beliefs and settle on the differences in the alliance. It also has the wisdom that life is equal from animals to humans in nature. As said the limitations of unhealthy bickering lead to strife and suffering, with eventual
