Throughout the study, the sampling method used was purpose sampling. According to Krysik & Finn (2013) stated, "Purpose sampling is a non probability sample in which selection of elements is intentional and is consistent with the goal of research" (p.163). During this study there were some advantages and disadvantages. The advantages that benefited the study was that the meditation-based mantram was very effective in decreasing the stress of PTSD patients, the participants had similar illnesses (PTSD), and the study is very helpful to this community.
