Social Media has alternated society since the 21th century. This internet based platform has made it possible to connect with friends and family all over the world. Social media is where anybody can access an applicant 's account if you have not made it private. This has allowed anybody to access an applicant 's personal information that could be misinterpreted. Although, some feel that is is unacceptable for people to access a students or employees personal social media accounts, it is acceptable college admissions offices and prospective employers to check social networking profiles because it can help the candidate and all the information is available to the public due to the fact that social media had ways around on looking at someone private information. Social media inhibits employers and colleges from finding suitable candidate and job seekers. Social media can harm a person 's stability on their character. Social networking can inhibit the invasion of someone 's privacy and it may be unfair to take this information and discriminate on someone based on their posts and pictures.
