In recent years, modern Li-ion batteries (LIBs) have become ubiquitous power source for a variety of applications such as laptops, mobile phone, and digital camera to electric vehicles, owing to their high power density, high energy density, and long cycle life.1–3 However, there are still many critical challenge to increasing the energy, power density, and improved cycling stability.4–6 In particular, selecting noble electrode materials is the hottest topics in the LIB field. Among them, bulk metal oxide such as Fe2O3, SnO2, ZnO, and In2O3 are promising material owing to their high theoretical capacity (~1000 mAh g-1), which considerable exceeds those of commercial graphitic anodes (372 mAh g-1).7–11 However, low electrical conductivity, huge capacity fading, poor durability due to the volume change and reduced crystallinity through the so-call conversion reaction mechanism of their use as LIB electrode material with prolonged cycling have impeded their applications.7,12 In recent years, new electrode materials for rechargeable LIBs have undergone a drastic shift toward to nanomaterials.13–20 Bulk material are generally considered to possess sluggish lithium ion and electron diffusion. In contrast, nanomaterial-sized LIBs practically have been demonstrated to be efficient to favor both power rate and cycle life and furthermore lead to unusual lithium reaction mechanism.
