Modern Food Cultivation; America’s Unhealthy Eating Habits
America’s obsession with food, the expanding waistlines of individuals serve as a testament to the previous statement. Throughout America cities and towns, there are literally thousands of fast food restaurants; such as McDonald’s, Burger King and Wendy’s. It is a fair statement to say that America’s relationship with food is a love-hate relationship. On one hand, Americans like to indulge in their food; this explains why the food industry in America is such a thriving business. On the other hand, Americans are struggling with serious health problems such as obesity, hypertension and high blood sugar. Many of these diseases are directly related and proportional to the unhealthy eating habits that Americans regularly engage in.
Americans have an obsession with fast food restaurants. There are many reasons for such obsession, one of which pertains to the fact that Americans often work long hours. As a result of having a limited amount of time, many Americans resort to fast food restaurants as their primary (or only) means of feeding themselves. Some Americans cannot find the time to go home and prepare a proper meal; one that is low in trans-fat or other ingredients that are associated with good health.
