Personal Statement

As a hardworking student, skilled developer, and successful engineer, I understand that formal education from a top rated program, such as Stanford, is a necessity to achieve my goal of moving into management roles and being a successful entrepreneur. Through Stanford’s Management Science & Engineering Technology and Engineering Management and Computer Social Science tracks, I will gain the managerial and technical acumen to propel my career forward and expand my entrepreneurial endeavors, while still working so I can instantly apply classroom knowledge. My style has always been to blend theoretical knowledge, with startup experience and work experience.

Over the past decade, I have built a strong academic foundation filled with diverse awards from top colleges. Having a firm grasp of the concept that nothing beats real world experience, I also took opportunities during and after college to work for premier companies. Concurrently, I expanded my entrepreneurial skills, as I worked on a design and web development to create the online presences for the Delhi College of Engineering, then e-learning solutions for elementary schools, and finally development of my own plug-in, “Backup and Move”, which has over 30,000 downloads. Having the Stanford brand attached to my name will, by virtue of your reputation, open doors. Additionally, through the program I will meet current and future leaders. Due to Stanford only admitting the top echelons of diverse students in every field, I will also be more likely to meet and develop lifetime relationships with others who are willing and able to co-found a startup or work in one. Finally, I chose Stanford because it offers the flexibility to take coursework at the business school, where I can better understand how people differ from ideal behavior, and how to model
