Tricksters in Modern Entertainment
Throughout the ages of storytelling and movie making we’ve had several types of characters. We’ve had heroes, villains and antiheroes. All these characters have been set up with many personalities. One personality of a multitude of characters used in stories and movies is the “trickster” personality. The trickster has been changed and rewritten so many times that we have many stories, new and old, that portray a character with this trait. One modern day trickster is the Joker. Based on early literature trickster tales, there are major differences in the way he is portrayed compared to the giant in Tselane and the Giant. Tselane and the giant are portrayed as tricksters due to their quick thinking and schemes
