Views on Heroes The Greeks view on heroes is a lot different than the views that modern society has on heroes. The question is what are these differences? Today, a hero isn’t thought of as someone who has special powers, or who has the ability to control people and items. The characteristics between the two types of heroes are completely different. Today if the word “hero” is said, the first thing that probably comes to mind would be Spiderman, Batman, or Superman; somebody who is seen in movies or books that is called a hero. Superheroes even differ from Greek heroes. Greek heroes are a lot more boastful and they have many more physical characteristics than modern day heroes.
