Society’s Heroes

There are many people today, that have done many heroic actions, but today they aren’t really called heroes like the ones in greek mythology. “Heroes” are just well well known people, because they did something important. Modern day heroes are important and impact society immensely, in ways people could not imagine. Heroes tell people that there are good people, who will do good things. Also heroes will impact the next generation, because children look up to people who are considered heroes. Children think of firefighters as heroes and kids want to do what a fireman does, because they are brave. Or teenagers, know someone who is in the armed forces and they want to protect the country, and do something that is important.

But some teachers go the extra mile. Robert Kuba went the extra mile and saved many students lives including his own. Robert Kuba is a high school instructor in New york. One day, a student brought a rifle to school, and the student had a plan. Immediately when he saw the rifle he acted quick and disarmed the student. His life, as along with his students were saved that day. This affected society in numerous of ways. It helps have schools better security, knowing someone could bring a rifle. It also lets people know that teachers care about their students, not just for money.
All these heroes listed, in some way relate to the greek hero perseus. Perseus was always and only doing what was right. Perseus was pure from the beginning, he didn’t do anything wrong. Perseus was very brave. All of the modern day heroes relate to perseus because they were brave. They did what they thought was right, and even though it was challenging they still did it.
Every single person who does something brave usually doesn’t think about the action. There are many heroes, but there are some heroes that have done a humongous act that will forever leave society in awe. Society wouldn't be the same without Robert O'Neill, Kyle Carpenter, Christine Simoes, and Robert Kuba. They still do it. In many ways society wouldn't be able to function without modern day
