Her name was Anna Pavlova, and she was unlike any ballerina of her time. She, like Martha, had a releasing quality about her movement that was immeasurably beautiful to watch. Nonetheless, her posture would probably have been ridiculed by any master ballet teacher. But in my opinion, her movement as a ballerina really showed the beginnings to a different take on dancing.
Although modern dance is known to be improper, there are many different elements that make up modern dance. These elements include techniques that basically give structure to modern dance. Some of these techniques include the graham technique which is a contraction and release, and the Horton technique which is laterals and flexibility. There are many more techniques which pertain to modern dance made by famous pioneers of early modern dance.
