Mockingjay Movie Vs Book

I was extremely excited to begin reading Mockingjay. After seeing the all of the movies, I was excited to see if the books were going to be like the movie. At this point in the book, it seems like there is not much of a difference between the two.
My favorite part in Part 1 of Mockingjay is when Peeta sends a coded message to the rebels. The rebels watch part of a live television event where Snow and Peeta appear. Peeta is in even worse condition than before. Peeta is still pleading for a ceasefire. I think that the only reason Peeta is pleading for a ceasefire is because he is wanting to protect Katniss even though he is captured by the Capitol. During the broadcast the broadcast is interjected by Beetee's work with the propos. The broadcast is cut up. After getting the signal back, President Snow and Peeta appear once again. Peeta is forced into speaking and gives Katniss a direct warning: all their lives are in danger. As the broadcast

The song appears during their lunch break while filming one of the propos. The group Katniss was traveling with came across a mocking jay. Katniss sings with it to show Pollux, who's with them, how it works. He asks her to sing and she does. The mocking jay and its fellows sing back. Katniss remembers how her father used to sing it to her, and how doing so caused her parents to get into a fight. She explains what the words of the song mean; they're about a criminal who was hanged and is calling to his wife or girlfriend to come join him, possibly in death. I feel like the song is a major part in the book because it relates to what Katniss is doing. I think of it as Katniss being the criminal; she wants to kill President Snow to save Peeta. She is calling all fellow rebels to join her in the killing of Snow and everyone who helps Katniss could end up dead

Katniss is the main reason for the Capitol’s agitation since she was the one who decided that she and Peeta should kill themselves. President Snow especially has begun to see Katniss as a real threat to his reign. Being at the Capitol is almost as if she’s in the Games because she still needs to survive the potential wrath of President Snow. The track choses makes sense in this current scene because the song talks about a girl heading for the castle where everything is locked up and kept very secret. The people of the castle want to make this girl their queen and a man is telling her to be nice and keep quiet.…

In the third and final book, Mockingjay, Peeta is held captive by President Snow and is used to “break” Katniss and the rebellion. During one of Katniss’ emotional breakdowns, she talks with her sister, Prim, about what they think the Capitol is doing with Peeta, ‘“So, what do you think they’ll do to him?” I ask. Prim sounds about a thousand years old when she speaks. “Whatever it takes to break you,”’(Mockingjay, 151).…

Katniss remembers an earlier time when Peeta helped her after her father’s death. Peeta purposefully burnt bread and, instead of feeding it to the pigs, he threw the loaves out to Katniss. During the games when Peeta and the Careers find and chase Katniss up a tree, Peeta decides they should wait until the morning to kill Katniss. Katniss then cuts down the tracker jacker nest that falls on the sleeping group and flees the scene, but not before she grabs Glimmer’s bow and arrow. In both the movie and the book there are scenes where descriptions are short and subtle. Like the scene where all the tributes were being scored. The book’s description of the scene was just as short as the movies. So the detailing of Katniss’s feelings were more informing than entertaining because it was written in first person. This scene is in fact entertaining.…

They had similar scenes and concepts, however, they did have some minor differences. The most significant of these differences was that the movie showed many scenes from other points of views that were told in the third person while in the novel, it was all from Katniss's point of view and only showed what Katniss experienced. For example, in the movie, there were several scenes of President Snow, the leader of the Panem and Seneca, the Gamemaster. These scenes depicted them talking about Katniss and her actions and allowed you to understand what happened to make the hunger games possible and the darker truth of the dystopian city. In one scene, Seneca and President snow were discussing why they had a winner in the Hunger Games even though those games were a reminder of what happens when rebel against the Capitol.…
