The symbol mockingbird stands for innocent people who try to do good things and they end up getting punished for it. Innocent people who are destroyed by forces of evil. The innocence is destroyed by people harming the mockingbird who does good things. Mockingbirds are people who have been in contact with evil.Doing good things does not always have a good outcome that comes from what people have done.Mockingbirds cannot hurt people , so it would be a sin to hurt them.The mockingbird is very important in the novel.
