1. No, trophies are for winners. Participation is good but to win you must go above and beyond. By giving trophies to all participants you teach that “you are always a winner no matter what” which is not a “real” idea…bad setup for the real world. By giving trophies to participants you encourage them to settle… having trophies for just the winners gives other players something to aspire to and work harder in life. The participation trophies are handouts and in life there are no handouts. The trophies that you want in life are achievable, but you have to be willing to put in the effort. The interviewees during the mock interview could not overcome because they had tough disadvantages in their way. The disadvantages were being unprepared, not properly dressed, not sure of their answers, and body language. When you are interviewing for any job, you should treat it as your dream job. That means come prepared, come properly dressed, be confident in your responses, and have proper body language. Come prepared is that you are 100% ready for anything in the interview. A good way to practice is a mock interview because you are able to go over sample questions that the interview might ask you. I think the most important thing to do is come dressed to impress because you don’t get the job when you are dressing like a lazy bum. In the past couple of years the violence in sports has risen. From the Nation Football League (NFL) to the National Basketball League (NBA) the players of those sports have not been good role models to young children and adults. Some of the major issues are that they beating women, driving under the influences, taking performance and enhancing drugs, sexual assault, and murder. A big case last year was the Ray Rice case. Ray Rice is former Baltimore Ravens running back, who literally beat his girlfriend at the time in an elevator. Rice was only suspend for two games before the actually tape was released to the public. Another case was the Aaron Hernandez case. Aaron Hernandez murder Odin Lloyd and involved in another homicide case in Bristol, Connecticut. For the first in six years, no one in the NFL has been arrested in the month of September. Last year, 15 players were arrested for domestic violence. Sadly in the NBA, players who committed domestic violence crimes are not being pushed an enough. For example, Celtics player Jared Sullinger, who committed this crime was suspend one game after his arrest. Ron Arrest or Metta World Peace received no punishment for the crimes he committed. After these tragic incidents teams in those leagues and other leagues are going back to look over the rules on domestic violence incidents.
