I was required to research the bill that involved a resolution to fund the arts and a bill to incentivize voting. To go against funding the arts, I found information that explained how many people don't go into arts and why it would not be good to fund it even more. Some people did not get what I was saying and it was very hard to convince them. The easiest part was defending my bill. I knew much information so I was able to answer any questions easily. The part I enjoyed the most was presenting my bills and being able to state my opinion freely. I loved how shocked people would be at some of my responses to their questions. The only part that I did not like was that some people just sat and did not say anything. It is much more exciting if everyone participates. I thought that Kody Merrell did a great job participating. He asked me many questions that were difficult to answer and was able to answer my questions efficiently. I thought he was the best congressman. Kody put up a tough argument in mock congress.
Mock congress was a great experience. The only way that it could have been a little better was if everyone would follow the procedure better. It also could have been better if we possibly could have gotten through a few more bills. Other than that, mock congress was entertaining and enjoyable. I feel as if every student should have an opportunity to participate in a mock congress. I just think that it was such a wonderful experience and I would love to do it
