According to the news story on NBC News titled, “Not Fast, But Furious: Freeway Cop Stops Scooter Driver, 89” there was an elderly woman (age 89) driving her mobility scooter on the Austrian autobahns that has a speed limit of 81 miles per hour. This occurred in Mainz, Germany on a Sunday afternoon. However, after seeing cars coming in the opposite direction, she turned around and drove in the emergency lane at a maximum speed of six miles per hour in the right direction for two miles. Luckily, the police caught up on the highway and escorted her back home.
You may be asking yourself, why in the world this 89 year old lady thought it was the right way to go? Well, she had missed her turn and mistakenly drove the wrong direction up a service
