We considered hybrid-fueled vehicles to realize fuel savings, as well as tax saving benefits. Google searches yielded results to compare leasing to purchasing. We presented the outcome of this research in the Results section of this report.
Results
The results of our research are presented in this section in table formats for the purpose of high-level comparisons.
The existing fleet of Ford F-150 trucks has served MobilePubs well. Robert Duffer of the Chicago Tribune stated, “In general, light-duty trucks average 90,000 miles, or 20 percent more than the 75,000 miles averaged in cars.” In his article “Top 20 longest lasting vehicles dominated by trucks, SUVs”. It proved challenging to find a vehicle that could stand up to the F-150 reputation. We took into consideration the reputation of the proposed vehicle, the Nissan Rogue SUV and the gas savings that a hybrid vehicle has to offer; see Table 1 for the results.
