The invention of the cell phone is one of the utmost significant technological advancements in recent times. The wide use of this type of technology has demonstrated an enormous impact across varying aspects of today’s life including socially, physically, and emotionally. While, these have contributed to the life of humankind in a positive manner; however, others still have had a negative impact on life. In both developed and developing countries, cell phones are the main source of communication in all sectors of the economy ranging from the service sector to the industries. There are several advantages of modern cell phones that contribute to an enhanced way of life today’s cell phones are a versatile multi-tool; various gadgets are available at one’s fingertips to help with a multitude of situations. Technology today includes cell phones equipped with GPS, to help find directions to the nearest store or to locate an individual who has become lost in the woods. Often a flashlight is used to help light someone’s way, or a calculator has been used for computing the total before checking out at the cash register is often invaluable. Furthermore, instant messaging tools are available on today’s cell phones, allowing for instant communication with others without ever actually uttering a syllable. Equally impressive, today’s modern technology provides round-the-clock access to the World Wide Web, delivering ways to find a hard to find phone number, or perhaps even read a food review on Yelp before deciding where to dine out. The possibilities with today’s cell phone technology are endless. However, perhaps one of the best features regarding today’s cell phones is that they are portable; mobile phones are flexible and can travel anywhere so individuals don’t miss an important phone call.
