Moana: Film Review
The movie I will be reviewing is a PG movie called Moana. The directors are Ron Clements and John Musker. The movie was released the 23rd of November in 2016. The length is 1 hour and 47 minutes. The genres are Animation, Adventure, and Comedy. The film went on to gross over 643 million dollars. The theme of the movie is to show you the culture of Moana’s people, Hawaii, and how to she shows courageousness. The movie is about a little girl named Moana who was chosen by her grandma and also the ocean to save her people. The reason why she has to do so is because in her village the coconuts are rotting and they are barely catching any fish which is a bad sign for her village. She now has to set sail to find the demigod, Maui. Maui is going to help Moana return the heart of Te Fiti to save her people. The Te Feti is the heart of a goddess that was stolen from Maui and with that heart, the goddess has the power to create life. Without the heart, she is a demon of fire and magma. After returning the heart with the help of Maui, Moana then goes back to her village where the vegetation is better and she reunites with her people and most importantly her parents. Everything pops out the way it should, colors are vibrant and illuminate in the films cinematography. The opening of the movie was very beautiful and throughout the whole movie you could really see the detail and the time that the animators put to the color is insane. To me that is why I think the movie is so successful because the viewers look forward to the colorful setting and not have something boring or basic. Also what I really like is that it shows you the Hawaiian culture and it shows the younger viewers how the people of Hawaii are and how they dress in Hawaiian
