Founded back in 1976, the company is now one of the successful multinational companies based in the US but with extensive global operations. One of these factors is the economic situation in each country and region. Factors such as inflation rates, taxation, and incomes levels will affect the company’s business positively or negatively. Moreover, an economic crisis could adversely affect the success of the iPhone 8 and the entire business in general. Cultural diversity also affects Apple’s business. Different people from different cultures tend to have different perceptions and attitudes towards foreign (American) brands such as Apple. Legal issues are also pertinent. The technology industry is subject to various laws and regulations relating to patent protection and privacy. Apple products have to comply with these laws. Many people have come across the brand and related products and have developed trust in it. This is important for the success of the iPhone 8 smartphone. The company will still rely on its strong brand position to market the product. Since most consumers already know about Apple’s high-quality products, it will be easy for the company to convince more customers to buy the product. Finally, Apple has a strong and effective marketing strategy. The company invests heavily in marketing through an integration of various marketing strategies and channels including traditional and new channels. This experience means that the company has the knowledge and capacity to market the new product successfully without necessarily having to seek external assistance. One of the main weaknesses of Apple is its closed ecosystem. The closed ecosystem has been cited as one of the reasons for app developers and smartphone users going for the open ecosystems like Android. With closed ecosystem, Apple limits the opportunities for success of the iPhone 8. A significant portion of potential buyers of the device may opt for rival products because of this apparent disadvantage.
