The author pointed out that Emergency Care and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) can benefit from mixed methods research. However, the mixed method consists of combining quantitative and qualitative research approaches. The researchers conducted the study to identify the complexities that are characterized within the healthcare system. Also, the research addressed medical errors, behaviors, human interaction, team performance, and communication. By combining mixed method approaches, researchers can conclude the underlying reason for out-of-hospital care, interpersonal interactions, patient outcomes, and societal norms. The theoretical framework within the article is complimentary and interrelation features of qualitative, quantitative and mix methods. The researchers recognize the specific problems within the Children’s Safety Initiative-Emergency Medical Services (CSI-EMS). The research is conducted in the United States and funded by the National institutes of …show more content…
The article is universal. The research included biostatistics and clinical medicine along with surveys, epidemiology, experienced non-EMS moderators and experienced EMS moderators. However, the moderator was involved in the research to monitor the focus groups. The research that was completed and is subject to bias. The research reveals there is a gap in the research. In this paper, existing literature explains the fundamental concept of bridging the gap through mix method research (Hansen, O’Brien, Meckler, Chang, & Guise, 2016).The information that is provided in this research will help ensure patient safety and potentially pediatric patients. The theoretical framework makes a justified argument that enhancing research through a mixed method approach will give researchers the understanding and knowledge on how to correlate emergency medical services with pediatrics
