Equally for the climate of the agency, Mitzi said it feels like home because they are a Black-owned agency that is easy going and friendly with each other. It is the ideal state to learn information from a variety of people such as co-workers and instructors. There is not much upward mobility; however, there is an opportunity to gain experience. The agency does not hire interns; the majority of staff are consultants. The staff consists of certified and licensed workers who are 75% women and 25% men. Their ages range from 35 to 65 years old. The agency measures, advancement different as far as expanding on ideas oppose to moving up the scale, for example, an opportunity to begin a fundraising group, facilitate groups, or learn about policy. Some approaches used to improve services are that they do surveys periodically to get clients’ opinions as to what can be enhanced. Culturally specific looks at things, ideas, and thoughts that are unique to a particular culture. Ms. Scott assumes many roles when dealing with her clients such as enabler, broker, educator, advocate, mediator, negotiator, and initiator. She stated, that resources are great, but education is key. She made an analogy, you can give a person a car, house, and a million dollars and they will not be able to maintain it unless their thinking changes. According to Kirst-Ashman (2015), social workers work on the micro, mezzo, and macro level. Advocacy is one of the most valued functions of a social worker. The advocacy role is one of the most important roles a social worker can assume. Ms. Scott said that advocacy is part of her ethical responsibility to go beyond the minimum requirement of her job on behalf of a client system that is in desperate need of help or
