Mitty And Moose Compare And Contrast Essay

My two characters are Mitty Blake from “Code Orange” and Moose from “Al Capone does my Shirt”. If you know them, they wouldn't seem polar opposites or very alike. Actually, it is probably somewhere near the middle. In their respective books they are faced with many challenges in many different situations that seem crazy to compare. Mitty and Moose will be compared and contrasted in their hopes, unselfishness and love interest.

One one hand Mitty and Moose may seem different at first glance, but they have a similar mindset and protectiveness over their family and friends. It is obvious in the book “Code Orange” that Mitty Blake likes Olivia, it is not so apparent that Moose likes the warden’s daughter “Piper”. My support for this is that Mitty is constantly thinking about Olivia and has kissed Olivia two times in the book, he also serenaded her in the

Mitty is a wealthy person who hasn't known physical or emotional labor for almost all his life, while Moose had to sacrifice his friendships and school to come to Alcatraz, a hostile place where he is a stranger. Mitty lives a comfortable life in New York and also has a beautiful vacation home in Connecticut. Another difference is that Mitty seems to be a person with many friends and a knack for being a cool guy. While Moose seems like an outcast because he only had one friend, Pete, and even he doesn’t send many letters, as his story is set in 1918, so no text messages. My final and last difference between these two characters is that Mitty Blake is a true hero and Moose was willing to ask a favor to a criminal who personally assured the death of over 30 people and delivered an illegal good to many people. While Mitty was willing to risk his life for the lives of all in New York, Moose only got his sister to get into a prestigious school without her redeeming herself and getting in with her own smarts and

Did you know that Mary Shelley, the author of one the most studied books in our recent history, was less than twenty years old when she started writing the novel Frankenstein? Pretty impressive considering how complex the book is, plot, characters and all. One of the things we all know about this book is how a doctor created a creature and this creature went on a rampage and killed people and we all think we know how monstrous he is. But that’s not the full story, some could argue that Victor Frankenstein, the doctor who created this monster, is actually more of a monstrous character than the creature that we all have come to know as the “monster”. Victor is cruel to his creation, he is neglectful, so much so that he gets his own creation to…

Despite when speaking of fictional characters who are most like me, I believe three come to mind these three characters represent me as a person in different ways.
