In the cell, you have a vast majority of organelles that perform as needed today to support it. These organelles must go by a certain way of processing each of its duties to keep it alive and healthy. It’s like an auto body factory. When one thing goes wrong it causes problems throughout the entire cell. This could cause major discrepancies and dysfunctions that would most likely cause the human body to shut down due to illness, sickness, disease or more severely, death. So it’s a must these cells maintain order to keep the human body moving. There is a linkage between the organelles within a cell. One of which is the nucleolus and mitochondria. For starters, the nucleolus is a spherical region inside of the nucleus that has an amazing function. …show more content…
The mitochondria take over this category of course. It is a on a constant prowl to provide energy for a cell. The mitochondrion is very unique of course. It has said to have been evolved from bacteria, by a process called endosynbiosis. It has an outer and inner membrane structure. The mitochondrion has an “oblong” oval type shape found in both animal and plant cells. Some cells don’t contain a true mitochondria in which are replaced by hemoglobin cells, like the red blood cells. The mitochondria is the site of cellular respiration which in turns gives the cell that steam power to keep it alive. The mitochondria seem to have the ability to produce its own proteins as well as its very own DNA. The DNA that the mitochondria has, isn’t like the genetic information stored in the nucleus. DNA held inside of the mitochondria is called mtDNA. This type of DNA has a higher rate of mutation. Further down the line, the mitochondria don’t generally depend on the cell for reproduction inquiries. It has the ability to replicate by binary fission. A crash course domino effect tends to arise. This situation affects everything inside of the cell cause major healthy problems and issues that some of which can’t be fixed in a manner that there is either no cure for or as well as an inability to function nor receive the right attention for it. There is no just patching up, and keeping it moving. No! There are bigger issues such as diseases. These diseases are common as well. The nucleoli of cells have a tendency to produce a very deadly disease called Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s disease is a very common form of dementia. The term dementia is referred to as memory loss. This form of dementia has a very devastating effect on humans. Age most defiantly plays a vital role in this situation as well. Ages of which are really affected are 65 years of age or older, but it may also strike in early ages well. Alzheimer’s victims follow stages of incoherent behavior and as time progresses, it worsens. Treatments of Alzheimer’s only has a minor effect which is greater chance of survival but there is no known cure. To even be inflicted with the disease, a malfunction must occur which is involved with the Nucleolus. A signaling enzyme called mTOR enzyme, is lowered causing oxidation stress in the mitochondria. Oxidative stress is essentially an imbalance between the production of free radicals and the ability of the body to counteract
