Misty Copeland is an inspiration to everyone, even if you don't dance there are many things to love about her. Misty Copeland was born on September 10, 1982, in Kansas City, Missouri. Misty Copeland had a rough childhood. Her mom had several marriages and boyfriends and had to keep packing up and moving under conditions. She is amazing because she overcame all these problems with her family and still looked on the bright side of things. They finally settled in the coastal community of San Pedro in California. Misty Copeland started learning ballet at age 13 at the Boys and Girls Club. At first, Misty didn't like ballet and she didn't have the money to buy leotards, tights, and ballet shoes but Cindy, the director of the Boys and Girls Club, told her she could just …show more content…
She is confident because even though she gets hate comments she doesn't let them bring her down. She helps others by bringing their confidence up and telling them that if she can do it they can do it too. When Misty was going through a hard time she thought it would be better if she left ABT and went to another company but decided to stay and press forward and didn't give up on herself. She had the problem of not having comfortable and supportive dancewear so she started a clothing line to help other people and herself. When she got injured, instead of listening to everyone else saying that it was the end of her career she kept strong and she got back on her feet.
