Old Mcdonald had a farm and on that farm he slaughtered six chickens, ten cows and 12 pigs. Everyday animals are slaughtered brutally to feed the needs of greedy homo sapiens. Animals have rights too. People are fighting for the social justice for animals as you read this essay. The food industry is a harsh and undeniably unfair. I know it is unrealistic for everybody on the planet to become vegans. I want to bring light to the mistreatment of the animals in the food industry, and what goes on at the factory. In this paper I will talk about the harsh reality in the food industry. What really happens to our food before we buy and consume it?

Do you ever wonder about what is in your food? 53% of Americans know very little about what they are eating according to Rutgers Today. When a package is labeled “Natural” it does not include the animal welfare. Which means it doesn’t tell what really happened to the animal. Free-range means that there is no legally used definition on the use of egg, pork or dairy. It is very important to know the truth behind the label, so you can truly know what you are eating. You have one body you have to take care of it.(ASPCA) Bruce G. Friedrich talks about how over 3 million animals are captured for their fur. Which is used for coats, handbags, and other types of clothing. How would you feel if you were captured and skinned? The trapped animals often chew their legs off in order to escape. Animals that are on fur farms have no federal laws so they are often slaughtered by vaginal or anal electrocution. This death is inexpensive and clean, but imagine the pain they go through. Fur is not a need it is a want. People wear it to show off or be “boujee”, without realizing the damage it does to the
