This tradition is called Mistletoe and how you celebrate it is two people kiss under the mistletoe. The reason why this tradition has started because Balder was in danger and all living things wanted to kill him,but his mother has told all living things to not hurt her son and they all agreed. She has forgotten about the mistletoe and Loki is the bad guy he used mistletoe in an arrow and shot him Balder has been killed by Loki. Balder’s mother was so upset that her son has been killed. After three days Balder was brought back to life by the goddess Frigga.
