Mistletoe has been around ever since Christmas came to the Greeks. Mistletoe was believed to bestow fertility and had life giving powers. This information comes from a Greek mythology story about how Balder, the son of frigga, gets killed and Frigga’s tears turn into the white berries on the mistletoe. So that everybody who walks under it gets kissed by the berries, bestowing upon them safety. Mistletoe was also believed to possess mystical powers, which bring good luck and ward off evil spirits. What many people don’t know is mistletoe means poop-twig, an article even says “The name mistletoe comes from two Anglo Saxon words 'Mistel' (which means dung) and 'tan' (which means) twig or stick!!”
