Missouri University Student Analysis

The Missouri University of Science and Technology is a diverse school full of exceptional students. These students are all uniquely gifted with their own set of skills, and the potential these students possess is truly limitless. The school will often have guest speakers come to give lectures that are both educational and inspirational. The students are always open for learning, and being college students they need as much motivation as they can get. The university has had many famous and distinguished people come to give these lectures, but because of your prestigious understanding of chemistry and physics as well as your many accomplishments, including winning the Nobel prize, we see you as someone that could be one of the best speakers we …show more content…
Perhaps the best way the college explains this is through its mission statement, which is “As one of the nation's premier technological research universities, Missouri University of Science and Technology integrates education and research to create and convey knowledge to solve problems for our State and the technological world.” Also, the school is listed as third on USA Today’s best engineering schools in the US. The ranking explains, “While not as selective as the first two schools on this list, Missouri S&T still produces high student outcomes, making it rank high on the best value list. The average starting salary for engineering grads at this school is $60,000” (USA Today, 2015). That average starting salary truly shows what businesses think of the students that graduate from here. They know that these students are exactly what they are looking for, very intelligent and creative people who will be able to use what they learned in college to succeed in the work field from day one. However, the average starting salary isn’t the only money related aspect of Missouri S&T that makes it so special. The school also has a relatively low tuition, and a tuition that seems very low when put next to other schools with prestigious engineering programs. Because of the low tuition and high average starting salary, this university was ranked #1 “Best Investment” among public universities for out-of-state students (Newsweek, August 2012).
