Missouri Fine Arts Research Paper

I was told by my speech coach to apply to Missouri Fine Arts Academy. This was back in August. I have spent months trying to decide what to type for this essay. Everything I typed sounded superficial and sounded like I was trying too hard. This has lead me to right now, where I’m freely typing my thoughts. Can I sum up my thoughts in 500 words? Perhaps.
The criteria for this essay is to type about how the arts have affected my life and how Missouri Fine Arts Academy can help me grow in my experiences as a person. There are only a few ways I can truly think of. I have become more open-minded to many different types of people I have encountered in my time in the theatre program at my school. Theatre has taught me to be unique and kind. I have learned to be more vivacious and open rather than closed off to the thoughts and ideas of other individuals. Speech team aided me in this endeavor.

I could learn much, much, much more at Missouri Fine Arts Academy. The knowledge I hold is only a candle to the raging bonfire Missouri Fine Arts Academy represents. If I were accepted into Missouri Fine Arts Academy, I would learn so much more. I would grow as an actress and become an even better individual. I would appreciate if I were given the chance to go and learn more about something I love. Theatre is my passion. Theatre is my life. I spend most of my time in our theatre, whether I am in school or out of school. I know a lot of things, but could learn even more through this program.
I thank you for reading for my oddly strung together essay. I’ve never been good at formal papers, and I am afraid to give this essay to my teacher to proofread for the fear that this whole paper will be trashed to go the regular and basic route of talking about my life story. Perhaps speaking about my life could work, but no one likes a complainer. Thank you for this opportunity, and I hope you will consider me for this excellent

On an ordinary day, around 4:45 pm, I, Matthew Watson entered society as an innocent and delicate infant destined to inherit this world. Full of life and energy, but, in desperate need of care, I was greeted with unconditional love from two enduring individuals, who had persevered through the trials of life: my parents. I can only imagine what I felt during these times. Being constantly under watchful and careful eyes, having utmost attention, and most importantly living a happy, simple life were all commodities that I enjoyed. However, this would come to a halt as the power of the sin of man and woman overwhelmed my family.…

I second all of the points brought up by Chris in his responce to your incredible writing. I was deeply moved by your literacy narrative. By simply having the pleasure of spending the past month or so with you, I would have never known about the part of your life that you wrote so passionately about in your literacy narrative. I often find it so intriguing that everyone has a story that resonates so deeply with him or her. That is exactly why I think large projects such as Humans of New York (HONY) or class assignments such as this one are so important.…

In comparison with other countries, America’s history is quite young, yet still very intense. It is common knowledge that this continent was officially discovered (by the modern world) in year 1492 by Christopher Columbus, an Italian navigator and explorer. He was sailing for the Spanish Crown in search of a westward route to Asia (Indies) to access the trade markets of spices and other oriental goods. The discovery of a new world between Europe and Asia, unknown up to that time, led to massive exploration and colonization by countries such as Spain and other European sea powers. This event is often described as the start of the modern era.…

Throughout this course I have gained more of an appreciation for artwork and the artists that create them. I have also gained an appreciation for the people that try to define what art is in general or more specifically what makes good art. We have read great thinkers and their philosophies on this, and the fact that even people of such great intelligence can disagree on the subject proves how challenging it can be. By reading the opinions of these great thinkers, and by discussing their thought with our class, I feel I am in a much better place as to define what makes good art myself. I define art as anything created by someone that inspires another to appreciation.…

“For very young children, making art -- or just talking about it- provides opportunities to learn words for colors, shapes, and actions” (Lynch). It is vital for a child to learn the importance of art early in their life so that they can choose whether or not they will be dedicated to pursue a career involving art skills. Learning about these basic forms of art at an early age gives children more insight in preparation for their educational life. “Although some may regard art education as a luxury, simple creative activities are some of the building blocks of child development” (Lynch). Students involved in simple creative activities within their peers can affect their emotional status and gives a more comforting feeling being around others that have similar qualities of enjoyment.…
