My work ethic is a central part of my character that makes me worthy to become a part of the student body at Mississippi College. I never partake in a task without seeing it completed until the end. I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior when I was eleven years old and believe strongly in attending a university that reflects my belief system. I attend church faithfully for both Sunday morning and night services as well as Wednesday night bible study. My Sunday School lessons further increase my knowledge of the Bible and the Christian walk. I have volunteered for Vacation Bible School for the past two years and have even gone door to door passing out fliers inviting children to attend. Recently, I realized that I wanted to become more involved with my community. My pastor and I began visiting nursing homes in our church community. Two times a month we visit local nursing homes and while there sing hymns and give devotions. My activities as a Christian give further proof as to why I am an exceptional candidate for Mississippi College. The two character traits of strong work ethics and Christian values and beliefs are compelling reasons for why Mississippi College should select me as a candidate. With these character traits I not only would represent Mississippi College well, but my church and

Why did you choose CBU? As a senior in high school, I was confused about what I wanted for my future, where I wanted to attend college, and most importantly, where I stood in my relationship with the Lord. I had grown up as a so called ‘christian’ but my family never attended church nor had we ever discussed the Bible. When it was time for me to sit down and go over my options for college, I had no idea what to do.…

I am applying to the PhD program at the University of Minnesota because of the opportunity it offers understanding the impacts of human-induced changes on ecology. My goal of pursuing a graduate degree is something that I have been focused on throughout my undergraduate experience at Boise State University (BSU). A path to achieving this goal is reflected in my approach to education, including my dedication to the undergraduate courses I’ve enrolled in, and my participation in research with a number of faculty members in the department. Ultimately I would like to see my doctoral degree (and subsequent postdoctoral experience[s]) position me for a career in academia as a faculty member at a university that values both research and teaching.…

    My Work Ethic Analysis

My work ethic is arguably one of my most notable attributes. I am extremely diligent with work I am assigned, and I constantly strive to complete my given assignments as expeditiously as possible and to the absolute best of my abilities. Additionally, I utilize the same work ethic for every task in my life, whether it be my academics, athletics, or volunteer work. Moreover, if I were given an assignment of which I did not feel driven to complete, I would still complete the task I was given to the absolute best of my abilities. I understand that everything that I do represents me, and this may be the only occasion someone may get to observe me and who I am.…

I seek to make a change in this world that ripples beyond my immediate circle. Often individuals, particularly students, are told that this world is a cruel place and they must learn to withstand it. My hope as a future educator is to teach students that the world is not a place to be withstood; that is not their purpose: they are here to make the world a little less cruel. Perhaps I could do this within my personal relationships but, as a Christian, I am called to go out into the world and share the gospel. The gospel is overflowing with sacrificial love and I hope my career mirrors the love I have received from Christ.…

On a particularly sunny morning in Washington, Mr. Charbonnel, sipping on a mug of tea over skype, answered my question regarding his choice in university. He gave me two separate answers to my questions. The first answer being the one he gave to his family and friends, “I wanted to go to school with my sister so I applied to Washington State!”. But after a moment’s chuckle he responded, “The actual reason why I choose Washington State over any other school was that I had procrastinated all first semester, and it was the only school that was actually still taking applicants.”. Having known Mr. Brandon Charbonnel most of my life, once as a teacher now as a friend and a somewhat of a role model, I was satisfied with the second answer he had…

With plenty of hard work, I was able to achieve that goal in only 3 years with a GPA of 3.6, while also participating in college athletics. I would first like to start off saying that your school is at the top of my list, as well as many others. I know that I am a perfect candidate for FIT as I have learned many great things in high school and at the community college I attend that will benefit me on my journey as I go to transfer to a four year University of my choice.…
