Two years ago, when I was in 10th grade, I went through a life changing experience. I went to Nairobi, Kenya as part of a mission trip to help the people in need. When I first arrived I noticed that it was very humid compared to New York’s relatively dry heat. I didn’t expect Africa to be as modernized as it is because of Western Medias depiction of Kenya.
The first thing me and my mission team did was drive 8 hours to our hotel. We didn’t stay at the hotel for that long. After we left the hotel, we slept in tents. To sleep in a tent for a week and a half was a different experience for me. It was challenging for me to fall asleep the first couple of days, but it became easier as I grew accustomed to sleeping in a tent. Everything we’re able
