As I am walking alongside the tall, thick, tan wall, I wonder how much history is stored inside. Two steps past the second entrance door and I am standing in the historical landmark, Mission San Juan Capistrano. Before me is the long courtyard rooms that create the perimeter of the mission, a small garden in the entrance with multiple trails, a beautiful, tall, octagonal fountain filled with green lily pads and white blossomed flowers, and to the left, standing high is what looks like a destroyed temple. Various little trails that all lead to different sections. It is filled with green lily pads, purple lotus, white blooming flowers, and koi fishes of different colors, some orange, others mixed with white. The fountain marks the center of the courtyard. Around it is the north, east, south, and west wing rooms, which create a four-sided enclosure. The north wing rooms did not have anything in display. The east wing is the Serra Chapel. The south wing had the Father’s dining room, bedroom, and the mission pantry. The west wing included the Native American Museum Room, which displayed the tools they used and pieces of art, and the Mission Treasures Exhibit, which included old clothing found from the missionaries, old furniture and books, old paintings, and different old objects and tools that were used in the mission. Behind the west wing rooms is the Mission Industrial Center. In this area, there was the outdoor kitchen they used back then, tallow vats that were used for soap and candle making, and hide tanning area, which was used for the process of getting the animals skins to produce leather. The courtyard and its surrounding rooms was were everyday life happened. It was where the women and girls prepared the food and washed clothes, where children played, where meetings were held, and where any types of festivals or celebrations were held
