Their economy depends on their exports. Mexico’s largest trade partners are: The United States, China, Japan, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. Mexico has become the US’ third-largest source of imports and the second largest export market. This has made the two-way trade in products surpass $590 billion. Their main export is manufactured products, silver, fruits, vegetables, cotton, and coffee. Even with these exports helping out the economy, the economy will never be above the potential it should be at. The Mexican Economy will always be weak because of falling oil production, weak oil prices, high inequality, informal sector employing over half the workforce, weak enforcements of the law, and corruption. Mexico is number 119 on the GDP growth rate list compared to other countries. The unemployment rate is at 4.4% right now but this is not a stable number. The number could be as low as that or as high as 25%. Also 52.3% of the population is below the poverty line. With every trip you go on there will be safety concerns. The two biggest concerns are those that relate to your health and safety. The main safety concerns are that there are cases of homicide in Puerto Nuevo. To know what the orphanage would need we looked up what orphanages need to constantly be restocked with and then made our decision. We our supplying them with: diapers, socks, first aid kits, light bulbs, coloring books, binders, paper, pens, notebooks, soap, hand sanitizer, blankets, pillows, markers, pencils, lotion, games, sport supplies, and crayons. After we knew what we were bringing, I had to find a good flight for all of us to take, and a hotel for us to stay at. I booked five rooms for the ten of us in the neighboring city of Tijuana for fourteen days, and fought a round trip flight for us. Then looked up the average cost per person a day for food and water.
